Job Description
Qualified Candidates:
- Successfully complete an established schooling program in the technical field. Be able to perform at a high level as a maintenance craftsmen for five (5) years or five (5) years of related experience.
- Successfully pass a skills and knowledge examination.
- Expert level knowledge of PLC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic concepts and equipment
- Expert level understanding of refrigeration and boilers
- Ability to lead and positively influence fellow employees
- Ability to interpret blue prints, electrical diagrams and engineering drawings
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work activities and duties
- Must have or obtain certifications for scissor, fork and aerial lifts and/or other man or equipment lifts within six (6) months of date of hire
- Ability to multitask, adapt and react to interruptions, production changes without losing composure and efficiency
Must Haves:
- Ability to read and understand blue prints and engineering plans at an expert level to develop and design welding and fabrication projects
- Ability to troubleshoot and rebuild production/packaging line equipment at an expert level
- Perform tear down and major/minor preventative maintenance for Separator and Homogenizer process equipment
- Recommend and fabricate equipment modifications to improve product quality and plant efficiency
- Perform routine preventative and general maintenance on plant machinery and equipment at an expert level.
- Maintain records and documents for all work performed
- Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of metals used for cutting, welding and forming parts and objects and various welding fluxes and rods
- Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors and managers when troubleshooting equipment and machinery issues to minimize downtime and ensure peak equipment efficiency
- Knowledge of specific welding processes, such as TIG, MIG and ARC
- Monitor production and packaging lines and report any abnormal conditions to the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Plant Manager and/or Production Supervisor
- Maintain a parts, materials inventory and work with the purchasing agent to arrange for new parts.
